False Memory by Xhovana Precetaj
The contrast between the continuous social political evolution of Albania and the years of study abroad have greatly influenced my artistic research.
In this pictorial research of mine I try to oscillate between these two conditions, transcending the real and immersing myself in these places that preserve my memories and my energy.
This memory is projected through my paintings, thus creating a bond that in the metamorphosis of the canvas regenerates decadent energy, and while constantly changing it self-destructs.
The body in my paintings is a metaphor of subversion that aims to always create new divergences but which remains a rhetorical figure, while instead the primordial core of the painting slips into self-harm to the sacrifice of matter to achieve the essence in itself.
